MOLLETONS, MOLUTANS

Originally an all-wool fabric used for dressing gowns, woven usually in the 2 & 2 twill, although plain weave cloths are made. Many molletons are now made from cotton. Both woollen and cotton types are heavily napped on both sides and dyed in many colours.
